Twitter calls for Trump to be digitally removed from 'Home Alone 2' cameo

"Down the hall and to the left.” That's Trump's singular line in Home Alone 2, in which the young Kevin McCallister runs into the future President in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, asking him for directions.

However, in the wake of the Capitol riots that occured last week, there has been an increase in calls for Trump to be removed from his iconic scene in the Christmas film.

One tweet by journalist Joseph Longo calling for the edit received over 560,000 likes and was retweeted over 53,000 times:

"And that episode of Fresh Prince. And that episode of Sex and The City," read another. Some are even taking to censoring the President's name in the aftermath of the crisis. "I’m still laughing at the fact that Tik Tok banned Tr*mp before he could ban Tik Tok," tweeted one woman.

Although there has been no announcement whether this will take place, the CBC previously cut the scene in an airing of the movie last Christmas season. The President's son, Donald Trump Jr., took to Instagram to criticize the move, calling it “absolutely pathetic." The President himself later weighed in (on his now-deleted Twitter account), stating that, "I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade!”
