Rogers outage hits customers across Canada

Early this morning, a nationwide Rogers outage interrupted wireless phone and data usage for customers across the country.

Over Twitter, Rogers noted that "some wireless customers are experiencing an intermittent service interruption for wireless voice and data services," noting that "[their] team is working quickly to restore services as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and will continue to provide regular updates.

As of 3PM GMT, no service has been restored. "We sincerely apologize to our customers. We know connectivity is critical & are working hard to restore services for customers who continue to experience wireless interruptions. Residential & business wireline internet services aren't impacted. We will continue to provide updates," noted Rogers around 11 AM, the most recent development.

People aren't happy. "Outages started last night at around midnight in Ontario...how are we still in this? How isn't there an answer as to what happened or an estimated fix time?," wrote one upset client on Facebook. "Why does Rogers have this issue consistently? [service disruptions] Yet, Bell and Telus never go down like this. You are a critical essential service especially in this day and age and thus this is absolutely unacceptable," wrote another.

There is no update as of yet as to when service will resume.
