Nationwide Warrant issued for Alleged Murderer spotted in Calgary

Calgary Police have issued a Canadawide warrant for 34-year-old Christopher Mathers, who was allegedly involved in an altercation that took place at a CTrain station. He is a suspect for a second-degree murder that took place in Calgary in April, during which one man was stabbed. The victim was identified as Russell David Younker, 49, of Calgary.

Sources note that "Mathers, 34, is believed to have connections in London, Ont., and Halifax, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. He is described as 6’1” tall, approximately 220 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes."

It is believed the victim and the accused knew each other and the altercation was a follow up to a previous incident that occurred between the two.

Officials are asking anyone with information on MATHERS to call the Homicide Tip Line at 403-428-8877, or the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
