MP Bob Zimmer Accuses Trudeau of Name Calling
Concerning unvaccinated Canadians, Trudeau has stated the following: “They are extremists who don’t believe in science, they’re often misogynists, also often racists. It’s a small group that muscles in, and we have to make a choice in terms of leaders, in terms of the country. Do we tolerate these people?”
In an article with Alaska Highway News, MP Bob Zimmer called this labelling of fellow Canadians as "anti-science, "misogynists", and "racists" as unacceptable, and not in line with his "sunny ways" as a so-called unifier. The MP called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to apologize immediately.
He contrasted Trudeau's rhetoric with the Head of the Opposition, Erin O'Toole: "Trudeau suggested that people who were not vaccinated (regardless of the reason why) were also racist or misogynists. Name calling and division from the prime minister, rather than a serious plan to address hesitancy and also work with employers on some reasonable accommodations for the unvaccinated. Accommodations that many labour tribunals and experts have confirmed in recent months are both legally and morally required. Canada’s Conservatives want to see an end to lockdowns, restrictions to your liberty and the ongoing impact on the mental wellness of our society."
O'Toole also stated: "Canadians deserve a federal government that actually delivers and can give the provinces, communities, schools and workplaces the tools they need to manage COVID-19. Conservatives will ensure that Canada is self-sufficient, prepared and on the path back to a balanced life."
