Local Alberta Café holds Anti-Restriction Protests against Kenney

Located off Highway 21 at highway 50 in Mirror, the Whistle Stop Cafe is set to protest against new restrictions implemented by the Kenney government.

Having previously refused to stop offering dine-in service back in January, the owners have previously faced court injunctions.

The "Save Alberta Campout Protest" is being held, according to the owners, in "response to harmful restrictions imposed by Jason Kenney, Tyler Shandro, Deena Hinshaw, AHS and the United Conservative Party Caucus' ongoing attack on the rights and freedoms of the people of Alberta." It continues: "Our Rights and Freedoms are protected by the Canadian Constitution, further enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and we will get them back."

Occurring on May 8-9th, the protests will be a "family friendly event with great food, entertainment, fun for kids" and will include special guest speakers. The roster currently includes Dr. Roger Hodkinson, Dr. Dennis Modry, Katherine Kowalchuk and Doris Reimer from Lawyes 4 Truth.

The events begin at 1PM and guests are asked to bring chairs and dress for the weather.
