Historic Metis Hero featured in a new online documentary

Although Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum will be closed on Louis Riel Day due to COVID this year, it is offering a special Louis Riel Day screening for its new documentary so that people can celebrate from home in Manitoba and beyond.

‘A Visit with Dr. Phil’ "answers all the historic questions you might have about the Francophone and Métis communities of Manitoba."

The St. Boniface Museum is well known for being situated in the largest oak log structure in North America and houses an impressive collection of artifacts dedicated to Franco-Manitoban culture and history.

The museum has a national reputation for its Louis Riel exhibit whereby thousands of people visit "every year to celebrate and better understand how Canada’s fifth province entered Confederation."

‘A Visit with Dr. Phil’ follows historian Philippe Mailhot, Ph.D from inside the museum where he previously researched and worked for well over 30 years. As the former Director of the St. Boniface Museum, the official site notes that "he’s got quite a few stories to tell" about Francophone and Métis history.

‘A Visit with Dr. Phil’ will be available for school, group or individual rentals after the free launch on Louis Riel Day.
