Bubba Wallace to be featured on Netflix Documentary Series

A new Netflix series will follow Wallace in his first season with the 23XI Racing team.

Wallace has achieved notoriety for speaking out against the death of George Floyd by the Minneapolis Police. He also advocated for the banning of the Confederate Flag from all NASCAR events, wore an 'I Can't Breathe' shirt during pre-race ceremonies at Atlanta Motor Speedway, ran a Black Lives Matter paint scheme at Martinsville Speedway and alleged that he was the victim of a hate crime, accusing a pull-down handle in his garage of being a 'noose' (it was not.)

"The evidence is very clear that the noose that was in that garage had been in the garage previously," said NASCAR president Steve Phelps. "The last race we had had there in October, it was present."

The series will take the form of an exclusive "behind the scenes" look into the 2021 Cup season from Wallace's perspective. It will also emphasize NASCAR's attempts to promote diversity and inclusion. Erik Parker will serve as director for the unnamed series, which does not yet have a release date.
