Boy With Cancer Evicted From Ronald McDonald House Over Vaccine Mandate

The Furgason family has been staying at a Ronald McDonald house while their four-year-old son Jack battles cancer. However, that's now coming to an end due to RMDH's new vaccine policy.

The letter from the company reads: "Beginning January 17, 2022, everyone five years and older who are working, staying or visiting our facilities (both the House at 4567 Heather St. Vancouver and at the Family Room in Surrey Memorial Hospital) must show proof of full vaccination (two doses), in addition to completing our existing screening, unless an Accommodation has been sought and has been explicitly approved and granted by RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charities) in writing."

LouderwithCrowder reports that the "family has all their other immunizations. [They are not] not anti-vaxxers. They are also not anti-maskers. You can see that from the video. Furgason's primary concern is with the children's vaccine mandate. Like many parents, he has concerns about the lack of testing and studying of long-term effects. Because the vaccine hasn't been on the market long enough to study the long-term effects."

The Furgason family added: “They just approved (the COVID vaccine) for kids. And even if you’re a vaccinated adult, like Ben Shapiro for example, he says, ‘get vaccinated,’ but he says he’s not going to vaccinate his kids–they don’t need it.”

A GoFundMe page has been started to support the family by a friend of the family. "Austin and Lindsay Furgason are active members of Harvest Church in Kelowna, and passionately involved within their community in Kelowna BC. Their son Jack was recently diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) and is currently staying in Vancouver undergoing treatment. I asked Austin's permission to make this Go Fund Me, and he said: 'We love our boy and we trust God to see us through this and restore our family, however there is a financial burden as my wife had to leave her job and move to Vancouver for treatment, and care for him. Leukaemia type (ALL) is the most common cancer in children but only 30 kids in BC get it each year, 40 years ago this would've been a death sentence; we feel really greatful to live in Canada for sure where we call a number and they bring us food and everything. Now it is a 90% survival rate.'

The friend adds: "Please help this family however you can. It's a long road ahead and it's my hope that finances is the least of their concern. May God heal this boy."
